Caseking’s partnership with PriceShape has allowed the company to automate its prices, streamline internal processes, and stay competitive. By using intelligent and dynamic pricing, Caseking has focused on protecting its margins while remaining a key player in the German gaming and PC market. Using data-driven insights helps Caseking adapt its pricing strategy to remain competitive despite changes in the market.

We’re focused on offering value, not just the lowest price,” says Jasper, Product Manager at Caseking. This approach has helped Caseking maintain its position as a leading gaming component retailer in the competitive market.

PriceShape throughout the company

At Caseking, understanding market movements is critical for all departments, especially in a fast-changing industry. Jasper explains: “If a small competitor lowers their prices, it’s not as urgent. But if a big competitor adjusts their pricing, we look into it more seriously to determine if we need to react.”

PriceShape is used across several departments at Caseking, particularly in purchasing, to track pricing trends, evaluate sales, and inform negotiations with suppliers. Jasper adds, “We also rely on PriceShape’s historical pricing data to help us prepare for key promotional periods, like Black Week, so we can decide on the most effective discount strategy.”

Time-saving

One of the primary benefits Caseking has experienced using PriceShape is the significant amount of time saved by automating price adjustments. “Before PriceShape, our team manually adjusted prices, which was time-consuming and could lead to errors,” says Jasper.

With PriceShape, this process is fully automated, allowing Caseking to focus on other strategic areas. “Now, the system automatically updates our prices based on market data, which frees up valuable time for our team to focus on growth and other critical tasks.”

Staying competitive

Like many e-commerce businesses, Caseking has faced challenges such as fluctuating customer behavior and increased competition from new entrants into the market. “The market has become even more competitive as more brands enter the direct-to-consumer space while online retailers like us fight to remain relevant,” Jasper describes.

PriceShape has helped Caseking stay competitive with its prices, allowing the team to adjust its pricing strategy quickly if needed. “PriceShape helps us keep an eye on the competition and make the necessary pricing adjustments,” Jasper says. The tool helps Caseking remain responsive when competitors offer discounts, ensuring it continues to attract customers.

Smarter decisions

Beyond pricing, Caseking also uses PriceShape to gain insights into its products' positioning in the market. “PriceShape gives us a complete view of the market. We can see if we’re up against 50 competitors or just 10. This helps us consider our position in the market and if we need to change our pricing strategy,” says Jasper.

By analyzing search trends and customer demand data, Caseking ensures it stocks the right products at the right time. “We can see which products are trending, what the market looks like, and how we should adjust our assortment,” he adds.

The market

Caseking’s goal is to be the best in its category within the gaming hardware market. “We aim to provide gamers with the best possible products and experience, whether it’s in high-end gaming PCs or additional products for the computers,” says Jasper.

The gaming hardware market is becoming increasingly competitive, particularly with many brands now launching their own D2C channels. Jasper notes the challenge: “We see a lot of brands starting their own B2C while online marketplaces continue to grow. This makes it critical for us to have a complete market overview to follow trends and tendencies.”

Who is Caseking?

Great support

Caseking is allocated a dedicated Customer Success Manager. Jasper praises the support team for their responsiveness, especially during the onboarding phases of implementation, when the company was under pressure due to the platform change.

The support has been great. We’ve had regular calls and have always been able to get everything solved quickly,” says Jasper.
